"A lot of the local fabric in India is used for clothing, bright colors and bold prints in the form of Sari's and Kurta's (long tunic type shirts). The animal prints I noticed were very popular for throw pillows or actually framed in some places. We had gone adventuring later on and I found out they are called Kalamkari. Only natural dyes are used in kalamkari and it involves seventeen steps and can be seen in many temples and often as tapestry." —Brittany Ganesan
